What’s the best transfer from Changi Airport to the city?
Depending on your budget, needs, and preferences, here are your Singapore Changi Airport transfer options:
1. Changi Airport MRT


The Changi Airport MRT is the cheapest mode of transport from Changi Airport to any part of Singapore. It may not be the fastest since you need to transfer lines to reach your destination. But if you want to save more, it’s the best option.
- Travel time: 35-40 mins (depending on destination)
- Operating hours: 5.31am to 11.18pm (Mon-Sat); 5.59am to 12.06am (Sun & Holidays)
- Schedule: Departs every 7-9 mins (peak hours); 12-13 mins (off-peak hours) (See latest Changi Airport train schedule)
- Estimated fare: S$2.24 (Changi to City Hall Station) (Use the LTA fare calculator to get the most accurate fares)
- Where to buy: Single-journey tickets are no longer sold. Instead, you need to use an EZ-Link Card, Singapore Tourist Pass, or debit/credit card to tap in and out of the MRT gates. You can buy them from the following:

2. Public bus
Public buses are also available at Changi Airport. However, they only operate until midnight, so if you’re arriving beyond that, this may not be your best option.
- Travel time: 60 – 90 mins (depending on traffic conditions and bus route)
- Operating hours: 5.30am to 12am
- Schedule: Departs every 5 to 20 mins (depending on bus route)

3. Shared bus transfer
We tried riding a shared bus transfer from Changi Airport to our hotel in Singapore. This is ideal for solo travelers or couples, especially when arriving late at night.

- Schedule: Departs every 15 mins (peak hrs); 30 mins (off-peak hrs)
