2024 Singapore EZ-Link Transport Card Guide: Price, Where to Buy & FAQs
On our personal and business trips to Singapore, we never secured our Singapore EZ-Link transport card before our flights. We were confident that we could easily buy one at the airport. While that was true, we still recommend getting this SG travel essential to save time, effort, and energy in looking for one.

What is a Singapore EZ-Link card?
The Singapore EZ-Link card is an integrated smartcard that you can use mainly for public transport in Singapore including trains and buses. It’s more like the Taiwan EasyCard, Hong Kong Octopus Card, Korea T-Money Card, and Japan Suica Card or Welcome Suica Card. It can also be used to pay for your purchases in over 500 participating retail merchants.

What can an EZ-Link card be used for?
You can pay using your EZ-link card for the following transactions:
1. Public transportation
EZ-Link is mainly used as a transit card to pay for Singapore’s public transportation, which includes MRT, LRT, and bus services. See complete list of SG public transport.
2. Private transport
You may also use EZ-Link to pay for participating private transport companies including premier taxis, city bus services, and coach services. See list of SG private transport that accepts EZ-Link as payment.
3. Convenience stores and supermarkets
This Singapore transit card can also be used to pay for purchases at convenience stores like 7-Eleven and Cheers, as well as supermarkets like FairPrice.
4. Food and beverage
There are tons of restaurants, cafes, and hawker centers that accept EZ-link as payment.
5. Retail shops
For your shopping convenience, you can just tap and pay for items at participating retail shops like Decathlon.
6. Entertainment, leisure, and wellness
Some wellness clinics, country clubs, and parks in Singapore accept EZ-Link as payment.
7. Education and government services

How much is the Singapore EZ-Link card?
The personal EZ-Link card costs S$10 (US$7), which already includes the S$5 card fee and S$5 preloaded amount. Do note that the maximum top-up or stored amount is S$500 (US$371).

We always recommend that you get your Singapore EZ-link card or travel card online for convenience. You may choose the following online platforms:

Option 2: MRT and bus stations
If you failed to get your SG EZ-Link card online, you may still buy from SimplyGo ticket offices at MRT stations and bus interchanges in Singapore.
Option 3: Vending machines

Option 4: Convenience stores and retail outlets

Singapore EZ-Link card frequently asked questions (FAQs)
1. What’s the difference between an EZ-Link card and a NETS FlashPay card?
The EZ-Link card and NETS FlashPay card both serve as a transport card you can use to pay for public transport and retail outlets in Singapore. The main difference is that NETS FlashPay has a more extensive shopping acceptance because of its NETS payment system integration.
2. What’s the difference between EZ-Link and Singapore Tourist Pass?
The Singapore Tourist Pass also serves as an EZ-Link card which is used as payment for public transport. The difference is that the Singapore Tourist Pass lets you enjoy unlimited rides within your chosen validity period of 1 to 3 days. 3. Can I buy my EZ-Link card at Changi Airport?
Yes, you can buy your EZ-Link card at Changi Airport. Go to Changi Airport MRT Station Terminal 2 ticketing service center, or find an automated kiosk at Changi Airport MRT Station Terminals 2 and 3.
4. Does EZ-Link have an app?
Yes, EZ-Link has a mobile app that allows you to top-up, check balance, and earn rewards points. Download the EZ-Link app on App Store and Google Play.
5. Can I use my EZ-Link card to pay for other people?
No, you can’t use your EZ-Link card to pay for others. One person should have one card.
6. When will my EZ-Link card expire?
The EZ-Link card has a validity of 5 years. So the card expires after 5 years from the date of purchase.
7. What happens after it expires?
You can no longer reactivate or use the card once it expires. If your card is expiring before Dec 2024, you may get a replacement card for S$3.
8. Is my EZ-Link card refundable?
Yes, the card is refundable. Visit any SimplyGo ticket offices or other EZ-Link refund channels.
9. Can I keep my Singapore EZ-Link card as a souvenir?
Sure! You may keep the card as a souvenir if you do not intend to return it. You may want to get the EZ-Link charms and wearables instead as they come in cute and trendy designs which make for a great Singapore souvenir.
10. Can I still reuse my EZ-Link card when I go back to Singapore?
Yes, you may still reuse your EZ-Link card provided it is still within the 5-year validity period.
