2024 Taipei Fun Pass Guide: Price, Where to Buy & Sample Itinerary
On our 4-day Taiwan trip, we used the EasyCard for public transportation. Had we discovered the Taipei Fun Pass at the time, we would have taken advantage of it, especially since we visited many Taiwan tourist spots included in the pass.
With the Taipei Fun Pass, tourists can enjoy unlimited rides on Taipei’s public transportation including MRT, buses, and shuttles within the chosen validity period. Plus, you can use the pass to enter popular attractions including Taipei 101, National Palace Museum, Yehliu Geopark, and a lot more!

What is a Taipei Fun Pass?
The Taipei FunPass is a special kind of tourist pass, offering unlimited rides on public transportation across Taipei, and admission to over 30 popular attractions. It’s more like the Singapore Tourist Pass and Discover Seoul Pass.

Where can I buy the Taipei Fun Pass?
Option 1: Online booking platforms
1) Klook

KKday is another option to buy online, but it only offers the Unlimited version of the Taipei Fun Pass.
3) Agoda
Agoda also offers the Unlimited Taipei Fun Pass with different validity periods. What’s nice about the Agoda offer is that you’ll enjoy a risk-free cancelation where you’ll still get a full refund even when you cancel 23:59 before the start of the activity date.
4) GetYourGuide
You can also buy your Unlimited Taipei FunPass on GetYourGuide which allows you to reserve the activity and pay later.
Option 2: Official website
If Taipei Fun Passes are sold out on the online booking platforms, you can still buy directly from the Taipei FunPass official website. However, website purchases may cost a little more.
Option 3: Direct counters (on-site)
If you fail to buy your Taipei Fun Pass online, you still have the option to buy directly at the following pick-up counters in Taipei:

Is the Taipei FunPass worth it?
It actually depends on which attractions you want to visit, and whether or not you are able to maximize the free admission fees on your allotted days. To give you some perspective, let’s compare the costs.
With our Taipei Fun Pass sample itinerary above, the estimated total cost for 3 days is NT$2,197 (US$67.81 / ₱4,000) if you pay the admission fees separately. This still does not include the transportation costs going to and from the attractions.
If you buy the Unlimited Pass (3-Day), it’ll only cost NT$2,000 (US$62 / ₱3,600). Plus, you get to enjoy unlimited rides on Taipei’s public transportation. You can definitely save more if you have the pass.

1. What’s the difference between the Taipei Fun Pass and EasyCard?
The Taipei Fun Pass is a special pass for tourists that allows free admission to more than 30 attractions and services in Taipei. It also serves as a transportation card like the EasyCard, but it has an unlimited option with 1-3 day validity periods. Read our EasyCard guide to learn more.
2. Can I use my pass on the Taiwan High Speed Rail?
No, the pass does not cover the Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR). You need to buy separate THSR tickets if you want to ride the bullet train.
3. How can I top up the pass?
No top-up is needed for the Unlimited and Transportation versions of the pass since this already enables you unlimited rides on public transportation. If you purchased the Exploring and Classic versions, you can top up at ticket vending machines, service counters at MRT stations, and convenience stores, just like a regular EasyCard.
4. Can we buy a Taipei Fun Pass at the airport?

5. Can other people use my pass?
No, each person should hold one pass.
6. When does the Taipei FunPass expire?
The pass expires on the last day of its validity. For instance, if you bought the 1-day pass today, it expires by the end of the day. The validity period is counted in days and not hours.
7. Can I use my pass as an EasyCard after its validity period?
Yes, you can use your pass as an EasyCard after its validity period when you top up an amount.
8. Can I reuse my Taipei FunPass when I’m back in Taiwan?
You cannot enjoy the benefits of the pass after its validity period but you can definitely reuse it as an EasyCard after you top up an amount. The EasyCard has no expiry so you can reuse it as often as you want.
