2025 Taiwan Cherry Blossoms: 10 Best Viewing Spots & Estimated Bloom Dates
Like Japan and South Korea, Taiwan has cherry blossoms, too, so we made sure to add it to our Taiwan spring itinerary. We traveled in mid-March, and we were lucky to catch some late blooms at Yangmingshan National Park.

Cherry blossom season in Taiwan
Before anything else, when is the best time to visit Taiwan for cherry blossoms? The sakura season in Taiwan typically lasts from February to April. However, there are places where the Taiwan cherry blossoms start flowering as early as late January with some even lasting up to early May.

We spotted cherry blossoms in Taiwan ourselves, so if you’d ask us what the best time to visit is, we recommend you go from late February to early March to get better chances. During this time, you’ll have more options of going to the best cherry blossom viewing spots across Taiwan.

Best cherry blossom spots in Taiwan
If you want to witness this natural phenomenon yourself, here are some of the best places to spot cherry blossoms in Taiwan. We grouped them according to major areas so you can easily plan your Taiwan spring itinerary.
Taipei and Northern Taiwan
1. Yangmingshan National Park

Yangmingshan National Park is one of the top tourist spots in Taiwan where you can spot the lovely cherry blossoms. When we visited in March, it poured heavily right after we explored Flower Clock, one of the scenic attractions here where we spotted some late blooms.
Tip: Bring an umbrella or raincoat in case it rains when you visit the park. As seen in our photo above, tourists used umbrellas as it was drizzling at the time.

How to get there: Ride Bus 260 from Taipei Main Station or Bus S9 or S230 from Beitou Station going to Yangmingshan Bus Station. Then, take the 125 shuttle bus to Flower Clock.
Tip: It can be a little tricky to commute to Yangmingshan National Park, especially when the weather is not so good like what happened to us. 2. 42 Pingjing Street

Also known as the Pingjing Lane Cherry Blossom Street, 42 Pingjing Street is one of the best places to see the pink sakura in Taipei, which start flowering as early as the third week of January. The street is lined with cherry blossoms peeking from the walls of local homes. It is not exactly a tourist spot, so be sure not to disturb the neighborhood here when exploring and taking photos.

How to get there: Take the MRT Green Line (Line 2) to Xinsheng South Station. Exit the station and walk to Pingjing Street.
3. LOHAS Park

LOHAS Park is one of the most accessible places to spot cherry blossoms in Taipei, which is why many locals and tourists alike flock to this public park along the Neigou River. You can walk through the 3km “Neigouxi Cherry Blossom Trail”, which becomes even more magical when illuminated at night.

How to get there: Ride the MRT to Donghu Station, then walk for about 10 minutes to reach LOHAS Park.
4. Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall

Aside from being a place of heritage, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is also a top cherry blossom spot in Taipei. More than 20 sakura trees have been planted on the Native Cherry Blossom Area located on the left part of the walkway from the Memorial Hall.
Tip: While you’re here, witness the iconic Changing of the Guards, which happens hourly between 9am and 5pm.

5. Wuji Tianyuan Temple

What’s so special about Wuji Tianyuan Temple among other cherry blossom spots in Taipei is that the sakura trees here bloom not once, but twice — in Feb and in March — which means you’ll have more chances of seeing the dreamy pink and white blooms. 6. Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village

The Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village on the east side of Sun Moon Lake has one of the largest collections of sakura trees. This amusement park has over 5,000 trees with different species of cherry blossoms, turning it into a magical wonderland of pink and white blooms. Ride the Sun Moon Lake Ropeway to see this astounding scenery from a different vantage point.

7. Cingjing Farm

If you love breathtaking landscapes and mountain views, head over to Cingjing Farm in Nantou County. It is tagged as Taiwan’s “Little Europe in the Clouds” with its scenic spots including the Small Swiss Garden and Green Green Grasslands. During spring, you can follow the Cherry Blossom Hiking Trail where you can strike a pose against a backdrop of pretty sakura blooms.
Tip: Level up your experience here by crossing the Qingjing Skywalk, Taiwan’s highest elevated skywalk.

8. Wuling Farm

Wuling Farm in Taichung is one of the most popular cherry blossom spots in Taiwan with its panoramic nature views and massive number of sakura trees. During the spring season, the farm transforms into a fairytale-esque landscape of vibrant colors.

How to get there: From Taipei Main Station, take the train to Yilan Station. Transfer to Kuo-Kuang Bus 1751 and alight at Wuling Farm. You can also join this Wuling Farm Day Tour from Taipei for more convenience.
Southern Taiwan
9. Alishan National Scenic Area
Alishan is probably Taiwan’s most popular scenic area famous for its tea gardens, lush forests, and cultural heritage of the indigenous Tsou people. This tourist destination becomes even more spectacular during the cherry blossom season with shades of pink blending well with the green landscape. Complete your experience here by riding the Alishan Forest Railway and drinking high-quality tea under the sakura trees.

10. Baoshan Erjituan Cherry Blossom Park

Spanning 38 acres at an altitude of 1,500 meters above sea level, Baoshan Erjituan Cherry Blossom Park is one of the best places to spot cherry blossoms in Kaohsiung. From January to February, this park becomes a pink paradise with almost 5,000 sakura trees blooming across an expansive mountain area.

How to get there: Since it’s in a mountain area, you have to drive for about 2 hours to get there. You may want to rent a car in Kaohsiung.
