Good news to all foreign digital nomads who want to travel and work remotely in the Philippines!
Under Executive Order No. 86 signed by the president on 24 April 2025, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is authorized to issue Digital Nomad Visas (DNVs) to non-immigrant foreigners who wish to work remotely in the Philippines for a maximum period of one (1) year given certain conditions.

All non-immigrant foreigners applying for a Digital Nomad Visa (DNV) must comply with the following conditions:
- At least 18 years old
- Proof of remote work using digital technologies
- Proof of sufficient income outside the Philippines
- No criminal record
- Health insurance for the duration of the Digital Nomad Visa
- National of another country that also offers a Digital Nomad Visa to Filipinos, and the
- Philippines has a Foreign Service Post (FSP)
- Not pose a threat to the country’s internal or external security
- Not employed in the Philippines

1. How long is the Digital Nomad Visa Philippines?
The Digital Nomad Visa (DNV) is valid for a period of up to one (1) year. It may be renewed for the same duration, and multiple-entry privileges may also be granted during the validity of the visa.
2. When will this be implemented?
A pilot program of the Philippines Digital Nomad Visa (DNV) will be implemented within 60 days from the effective date of the order. This means it may be launched mid this year, between May and July 2025.
3. How to apply for a PH Digital Nomad Visa?
DFA, together with DOJ, DOT, and BI, are tasked to study and adopt measures to implement the Digital Nomad Visa (DNV). With this, there are still no official steps on how to apply for a DNV.
