Cebu is a top Philippine tourist destination located right in the heart of the country. Aside from lechon and Sinulog, Cebu is also known for its scenic coastlines and stunning beaches, which are not too far from the metro. In fact, you can easily reach some of these Cebu beach resorts in just a few hours.
If you want to escape the hectic city life, head over to these beach resorts in Cebu and have a relaxing tropical getaway that you so deserve.
Luxury beach resorts in Cebu’s Mactan Island
Mactan Island is home to a range of resorts and the Mactan-Cebu International Airport, which is the main airport that welcomes you to Cebu. We’ve handpicked the best luxury beach resorts in Mactan, some of which we’ve actually stayed at, so we can attest to their excellent service and top-notch amenities.
If you’d ask us where to stay in Mactan, Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa will always be on top of our list. We’ve personally stayed here, and we must say that our overall experience was nothing short of amazing — from the friendly staff to the luxe amenities. If you don’t believe us, you can read the guest reviews to back that up.
We particularly love their Chi Spa and the beach where we snorkeled and swam with the marine creatures near the shore. At Shangri-La, you are assured of a 5-star treatment throughout your stay.
Another Mactan resort that made it to our list is Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan. When we arrived at the resort, we were treated like VIPs. Check-in was a breeze and we hopped on a golf cart to reach our tropical-style deluxe room. You may want to book their private villa with its own pool all to yourself if you want more privacy and intimacy.
This 5-star luxury resort in Mactan is known for its posh infinity pool, a private beach, and a spa facility. But what really made us love Crimson is their food – although not on the budget-friendly side, the culinary offerings here satisfied our picky palates. We especially like their breakfast spread at Enye restaurant and mie goreng (Indonesian fried noodle dish) at their Azure Beach Club.
We haven’t tried staying overnight at Jpark Island Resort and Waterpark, but we did come here on a day trip and spent the afternoon at their Jlounge. If you wish, you can get the Jpark Day Pass where you’ll enjoy ₱1,000 worth of dining credits and access to the waterpark facilities.
This luxury resort in Mactan features many exciting slides and kid-friendly amenities like Pororo Park perfect for families.
Bluewater Maribago is a beach resort in Mactan we recommend mainly because of the spacious rooms with large bathrooms and bathtubs. Yes, they didn’t scrimp on space just to give their guests a relaxing tropical home away from home.
We also like the sumptuous array of food at their Allegro restaurant. Our favorite dish is their best-selling adobo rice. You have to taste it yourself!
Beachfront resorts in Bantayan Island
Bantayan Island is one of the top Cebu tourist destinations known for its spotless white sand beaches and natural wonders. We always recommend it to friends looking for a beach getaway in Cebu. There are many places to stay in Bantayan Island but here are our top picks:
We stayed at Kota Beach Resort on our first-ever getaway to Bantayan Island. As it is located on Kota Beach, the most popular beach on the island, the villas here easily get sold out. You have to book ahead if you want to stay here. But it’s definitely worth it with the white sand beach right at your doorstep.

On our last summer getaway to Bantayan Island, we chose to stay at Kandugyap House by the Sea and we didn’t regret it. It is close to Bantayan’s top tourist spots and it also has exclusive amenities including an infinity pool and a private beach, which we truly enjoyed.
Did you know that it is also one of the filming locations of the local movie Camp Sawi? It’s quite popular so you have to check it out yourself.
La Playa Estrella Beach Resort is one of the popular beach resorts in Bantayan Island, which our local friends recommended when we asked for accommodation options on the island.
While we haven’t personally stayed here yet, it is highly rated by guests for its facilities and customer service. We’ll surely check it out on our next visit to Bantayan Island.
More Cebu beach resorts in other locations
Kandaya Resort is a luxurious beach resort in Daanbantayan in the Northern tip of Cebu. This beach resort is ideal for those vacationers who easily get seasick and don’t want to ride a boat or Ro-Ro to get to an island destination.
We haven’t been here but we’ve seen many videos and reviews about it, and we can’t wait to check it out ourselves, especially their beach which looks so serene.
Bluewater Sumilon is a private island resort in the municipality of Oslob. This Filipino-owned island paradise features an infinity pool overlooking the sea and a range of outdoor activities such as glamping, kayaking, snorkeling, and trekking.
What we truly like here is the sandbar where we could sunbathe and swim with the marine creatures. Sometimes, whale sharks pass by Sumilon Island, too. You’re lucky if you spot one of these friendly giants!
Tip: If you don’t want to spend a night here, you can go on a Sumilon Day Tour inclusive of round-trip boat transfers, set lunch, free use of amenities, and more!
Whenever we go to Camotes Island, we always stay at Santiago Bay Garden and Resort. Though it is no longer new, we still prefer to stay here for its great location, which is just a stone’s throw away from the beach. It’s not a luxury resort, so don’t expect superb amenities but the scenic view and strategic location more than make up for it.
These are just a few of our well-loved Cebu beach resorts. There’s still so many resorts to discover.
