We first saw sakura blooms in Taiwan, and then in Japan. Of course, we had to spot these lovely cherry blossoms in South Korea, too! Finally, we made it happen during our 5-day Korea spring trip.

We traveled in mid-April, and we thought we were a little late to the cherry blossom season in Korea. While we missed the sakura in Seoul, we still managed to spot some late blooms at Incheon Central Park.

So, when is the best time to go to Korea for cherry blossoms? It’s definitely during the spring season, from late March to early April.
While the official 2025 Korea Cherry Blossom Forecast has not been released yet, it’s safe to plan your travels to Korea during the average yearly blossom dates – starting late March in Busan and Jeju Island, and early April in Seoul and beyond. After the peak bloom, the cherry blossoms typically last up to two weeks.

Best places to spot cherry blossoms in Korea
Seoul
1. Yeouido Park

Yeouido Park along the Han River is arguably Seoul’s most famous cherry blossom spot featuring more than 1,800 sakura trees. In early April, when the cherry blossoms start to bloom, the park transforms into a dreamy pink paradise.
This lakeside area also hosts the Yeongdeungpo Yeouido Spring Flower Festival where you can find more flowers like royal azaleas and forsythia. You can even enjoy a picnic by the river and watch live street performances here.

How to get there: Ride the MRT to Yeouido Station. Exit 3 and walk towards the National Assembly Building and continue to Yeouido Park.
2. Seokchon Lake

Seokchon Lake is one of the best cherry blossom spots in Seoul. During early April, this lake surrounding Lotte World Seoul turns into a postcard-worthy area with pink and white blooms reflecting on the water. If you’re up for both theme park adventure and sightseeing with nature, this Seoul attraction is for you.
Tip: While you’re here, rent a Korean school uniform to complete your Lotte World experience.

How to get there: Ride the MRT to Jamsil Station. Pass through Exit 2 and cross the road. Then, walk towards Express Bus Terminal Exit 1 and follow the walkway that leads you to the left side of the lake.
3. Namsan Park

Namsan Park is a famous K-drama filming location and it turns even more romantic during the spring season. In early April, spring flowers including cherry blossoms blanket the area, from the Namsan Trail to the N Seoul Tower.

How to get there: Ride the MRT (Line 3) to Dongguk University Station, Exit 6. Transfer to Namsan Circulation Bus 2 located in front of Jangchungdan Park.
Busan
4. Namcheon-dong Cherry Blossom Road

There are many cherry blossom spots in Busan, but one that’s popular among tourists is the Namcheon-dong Cherry Blossom Road. From the name itself, you can already imagine an entire street lined with lovely cherry blossoms, which typically bloom in late March. Do note that this is a residential area so be sure not to disturb the locals living here.

How to get there: Ride the Busan MRT to Geumnyeonsan Station. Get out of Exit 5 and walk towards Namcheon-dong Cherry Blossom Road.
Jeju Island
5. Jeonnong-ro Cherry Blossom Road

Jeonnong-ro Cherry Blossom Road is one of the best places to spot cherry blossoms in Jeju Island. In fact, it’s the main spot for the Jeju Cherry Blossom Festival, which usually happens in late March. The street is lined with quaint cafes and local restaurants, and becomes even more spectacular at night.

How to get there: From Jeju International Airport 3, ride Bus 365-1 bound for Jeju National University. Alight at Citizens’ Center and walk for about 500m (9 minutes) towards Jeonnong-ro Cherry Blossom Road.

6. Jinhae

Ready your cameras, head over to Yeojwacheon Stream and Gyeonghwa Station, and strike a pose with these breathtaking pink flowers.

Gyeongju is a coastal city in the Southeastern part of Korea’s North Gyeongsang Province. It hosts the famous Gyeongju Cherry Blossom Festival where locals and tourists alike experience the special cherry blossom season in historical sites like Hwangnyongwon, Daereungwon Ancient Tomb Complex, and Bulguksa Temple.

8. Jeonju

9. Nami Island

Nami Island was made popular by the OG K-drama Winter Sonata (2002). We visited this known filming location in winter, but they say it also has its own allure in spring. Time your travel here in the second week of April and you might just spot some lovely sakura blooms in a picturesque setting.

How to get there: From Seoul, ride the train to Gapyeong Station. Then, walk or take a bus to Gapyeong Wharf where you ride the ferry to Nami Island. You can also book a shuttle bus from Seoul to Nami Island for more convenience.
10. Incheon

Incheon City is worth visiting during spring as it is one of the few places in Korea where cherry blossoms bloom late. In fact, we still managed to spot some late blooms at Incheon Central Park in mid-April. Other well-known cherry blossom spots in Incheon include Incheon Liberty Park, Jayu Park, and Wolmido Island.

How to get there: From Seoul, ride the Incheon Subway Line 1 to Central Park Station. Exit the station and you should immediately see the park.
